My message this morning is entitled:
"faith, Faith, and FAITH"
"faith, Faith, and FAITH"
My text is found in: John 11:1-46

This message shows three distinct phases of faith
I. Struggling Faith (Martha) vv 20-27
I. Struggling Faith (Martha) vv 20-27
A person in deep water.
Trying to find something to cling to.
But it is just out of reach.
A Businesswoman trying to keep her business afloat!
You just got the news “you have cancer!
Your spouse says I want a divorce
If you only had been here Jesus (Martha)
My brother would still be alive.
God will give you what you ask.
Not what I ask. (Martha has struggling Faith)
Your Brother will rise again. (Jesus) (vv23)
I know. In the last day.
Jesus is saying (HELLO) - I am the resurrection and the life.
Mary says “I know you are the Christ.”
Martha was saying, she believed Jesus could heal Lazarus, But raising him from the dead was a whole new level that she was struggling with.
God doesn’t want us to have Struggling Faith
Neither does he want us to have Clinging faith

Hanging on the side of a boat
Found something to cling to.
But still struggling.
If you had only been here. (Mary and the crowd)
Lazarus would still be alive.
Surely Jesus could have done something
When Lazarus was alive.
But not now.
Mary and the crowd are holding on to clinging faith, she fell at His feet! (vv 32)
Jesus wept - (v35) - Jesus cares about us! Jesus Loves us
Some of us have lost love ones - Jesus loves us, He died for us!
Now we come to Resting Faith

In the boat.
Secure. No more struggle.
Out of the water.
You’re not Struggling. or Clinging
Roll away the stone. (v. 39)
Surely he stinks. (Are you sure Lord?) “Jewish Law”
They finally rested in His word. (v. 41)
Resulted in reward. (v. 44)
If he hadn’t called Lazarus by his name
Conclusion:
Conclusion:
Other resultsOkay because of Faith
And the people believed.
And they went and told about it.
Struggling faith may get you to
the clinging faith stage.
But they will not get you to the resting stage.
Just clinging is not enough.
Come to me all who labor and heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Full commitment to Him. Not just struggling with scripture.
Labor to rest. (Heb 4: 9-11) read and close.
9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

Lord I believe that Jesus is the son of God, and that He died On the cross for my sins and His resurrection from the dead gives me eternal life. I ask forgiveness of my sins, and I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
